Frequently Asked Questions

The aim of this section is to cover some of the questions that regularly crop up in the emails that I receive.

Where can I get my Alfa Serviced?

Owners of new or recent Alfas will no doubt want to get them serviced at a main dealer, and the Yellow Pages will tell you where to finde these. For the older car, there are some garages who have specialist Alfa knowledge who will take on just about anything. Here are three:

Dundee: C P Garage services, Unit 3, Baluniefield Industrial Estate, Dundee Tel 01382 731479.

Edinburgh: Edward Labinjoh Cars, 22 Canning St Lane, Edinburgh,  0131 229 5561

Glasgow:  Shawlands Motor Co, 104A Eastwood Avenue, Shawlands, Glasgow.  0141 636 1928, www.shawlandsmotor.co.uk

Where can I get Spare Parts?

For more recent Alfas, the main dealer again is probably the best bet. For the more elusive parts, or parts for an older or classic Alfa, there are many specialists, (unfortunately none in Scotland), and some I have obtained parts from include

Alfa Stop, P.O. Box 50 Belper, Derbyshire, DE56 1AS.  www.alfastop.co.uk

Alfa Tech, Unit D1, Park Ave Estate, Luton, Beds, Tel 01582 494950.

Highwood Motor Co, 137 Bishopston Road, Swansea, Tel 01792 234314.

Mangoletsi, London Road, Knutsford, Tel 01565 722899.   www.mangoletsi.com

E.B Spares, 31 Link Road, Westbury Trading Estate, Westbury Wilts.  www.ebspares.co.uk

For competition parts, try

BLS, Great Northern Way, Lincoln, Tel 01522 531529.

Avon Racing, 6 Station Road, Uppingham, Rutland, Tel 01572 823514.

Are there any Alfa based Kit cars?

The only recent one I am aware of is the Minari, a 2 seater soft top based on 33 and/or Sud running gear. It was made by Chameleon Cars Ltd, 133 The Common, Earlswood, Solihull, Tel 0121 709 1043 and there is a register here
