Scottish Italian Car Day 2005
Sunday 29th May 2005 11am-4pm
The Venue
After a sensational debut in 2004, the Scottish Italian Car Day returns in 2005 to Craigtoun Country Park, Near St Andrews, Fife. Click here for a map

Originally laid out as parkland attached to Mount Melville House - the house itself is now part of the Dukes Golf Course - Craigtoun has been operated as a country park since 1947 when it came into the ownership of Fife Council. Much of the formal design - including the avenue of Lawson Cypress, the Italian Garden and the much loved Dutch Village - are part of the original design.

Craigtoun has a great deal to offers visitors of all ages. Younger visitors will enjoy the adventure playground, miniature railway, trampolines and bouncy castle, while older visitors will appreciate the formal gardens, glasshouses and bowling green. And everyone can enjoy picnicking, boating, putting, crazy golf, pets' corner and the avaries. The park also has a Countryside Centre run by the Ranger Service, where visitors can learn more about the wildlife and fauna of the park and surrounding area.

Craigtoun country park is very close to the historic town of St Andrews, famous in its own right as the home of golf and for its university. If you are planning an extended stay in the area, check out the accommodation here

The Cars
But the event is all about cars, Italian cars in particular, and is a relaxed and informal way for Italian car enthusiasts to get together and discuss their passion. Here are some pictures from previous years to give you a flavour of the event.
The Stands
As well as the cars, there are also Trade stands where you can buy cars - full size as well as models or talk to specialists such as Trentside Classics who do top class restoration work.
